GoodEye Shows Versatility During Holiday Rush

12/9/2015

December can prove to be a challenging month for companies involved in the event photography business. The holidays lead to special events related to work, public and private celebrations, even an increased number of school events. There's increased demand for staff for larger events and increased demand for special equipment and services, which serve to make our clients' events unique and memorable. This past weekend was no exception.

Here's a sampling of some of the photos we took at this weekend's events:
(Click on the event name for the full gallery)
Washington University College Prep Winter Celebration
2015 Fontbonne Snowcoming
2015 Musial Awards
35th Annual Silver Ball benefiting the Arthritis Foundation
2015 Emerson Awards Event
The college and non-profit events were fairly straightforward, using our basic open air photo booth, standard backdrops, and some with props.

The Emerson Awards event was held at the St. Louis Zoo. GoodEye PhotoShare has been a part of many events at the zoo over the years and our staff is very familiar with the facilities there. This particular event consisted of a main station setup in River Camp consisting of an open air photo booth providing unlimited photos and prints and two attendants. Two additional digital-only stations were setup at other locations of interest on the zoo grounds. In addition to the three photo stations, a roaming candid photographer was also present in River Camp to take photos of employees accepting their awards.

The goal was include all photos from the three stations and the candid photographer in a slideshow displayed on a monitor in River Camp. This was achieved by having one of the two attendants from the main station retrieving memory cards from the satellite stations and uploading them to our system. A shared Wi-Fi network would have been ideal, however, we eschewed that option for our 'sneakernet' to guard against any issues with the network going down.

We were able to collect all the photos from the event, display them on the slideshow in River Camp, and print all the photos for guests to take with them on-site.

If you have an event coming up that needs a photography component, contact us online or by phone at 314-644-7770. We're willing to help you with any needs you have!

First Annual Gateway Gala benefiting Concordance Academy

11/20/2015

Picture
GoodEye PhotoShare has helped make many non-profit galas and fundraisers memorable over the past 6 years. Many times our open air photo booth is not the highlight of the event entertainment.  Many times a significant guest steal the show.

The keynote speaker for the First Annual Gateway Gala benefiting Concordance Academy was former Secretary of State Colin Powell.  The retired US general stopped by our photo station and posed with guests at the event.

This event utilized a custom photo banner which included the major sponsors of the event.  Each guest gets to take home a photo that they will treasure while the sponsors get to tie their brand to a meaningful cause.

The Concordance Academy of Leadership seeks to improve the lives of those who have been incarcerated and those of the communities they are a part of.

2015 Forest Park Forever Volunteer Appreciation

11/16/2015

Picture
Forest Park Forever has been working to care for and restore one of the greatest parks in the world, St. Louis' own Forest Park, for over 20 years.

GoodEye PhotoShare has been a fixture at Forest Park Forever's signature events like the Fall Family Fun Fest, the Hiram W. Leffingwell Award Hat Luncheon, and its Volunteer Appreciation events, recognizing those who strive to make Forest Park great.

This year, they were looking to do a little something different that would make the keepsake photos from the event stand out and give their guests something truly unique to share.  This year's Volunteer Appreciation event took place aat the St. Louis Science Center's James S. McDonnell Planetarium. After some discussion, we decided on giving their volunteers the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to travel to the International Space Station!

Using our innovative digital green screen background software, we were able to send their guests to space!

The weightless effect you see in the photos was achieved by extending the bottom of a normal green screen backdrop out onto the floor, so guests could stand on the backdrops extension, letting us capture a full body shot of the subject surrounded in green. The photo was processed through our software and manipulated in  a way to achieve the weightless effect you see in the photo above.

Boys and Girls Club - 2015 Great Futures Gala

11/14/2015

The 2015 Great Futures Gala present by the Boys and Girls Club of Greater St. Louis picks up where the long-running All That Jazz event leaves off in highlighting Youth of the Year candidates. The annual event is a great way to contribute to the Boys and Girls Club of Greater St. Louis.

GoodEye PhotoShare has been a part of this event for several years. This year's event featured an updated green screen component to the event photos. We created a virtual step-and-repeat background which can cost any organization hundreds of dollars over printing a full size physical step-and-repeat background.

GoodEye PhotoShare Gets Creative!

8/7/2013

Picture
This past weekend GoodEye-PhotoShare was met with a challenge to photograph a large group photo.   The initial request  was asked by the National Fraternity of Sigma Tau Gamma to take a photo of their 230+ guests at the annual awards ceremony at Busch Stadium.  Sigma Tau Gamma was the fraternity of the late Stan Musial and the group requested that they have the photo taken at the famous statue of 'The Man.'

The statue itself sits on the intersection of South 8th. and Spruce St.  It's surrounded by a 50"x15'' planter, which would displace the majority of 230 guests in the photo.  A straight shot of the guests and the statue would have required risers for the guests and the petitioning of the city to close the intersection so our photographers could take great photos we have become known for.

This got the staff at GoodEye PhotoShare thinking. What if, instead of having risers for the guests to awkwardly file onto, and having to pay the city to send police officers down to close the intersection, we just put the camera really high in the air,  and change the location of where the camera would need to be?
We ended up with a 15 foot pole that we could hoist our camera into the air with.

How did GoodEye PhotoShare do it?
Thanks to home grown GoodEye technology, we were able to modify our existing software to allow us to have a live view of what the camera was seeing, without the need of having a photographer leave the ground.  (Except to click his heels once the photo was taken!)

The best part was that everyone in the photo went home with a copy of the picture they posed for, just a couple of hours before.  Guests were able to take photos with the standard GoodEye-Photoshare studio, where we printed small group photos immediately, and then after dinner and an awards ceremony behind home plate at Busch Stadium, guests went home with the large 5"x7" print as a parting gift.  Needless to say, everyone involved had a great time and will remember that evening for many years to come!

GoodEye Shows Versatility Over The Weekend

4/9/2013

Picture
We sent out systems to five events this weekend, and had the opportunity to shoot in Busch Stadium, right on home plate! As part of Ask Chemicals' staff appreciation night, guests competed in a fast pitch competition in the bullpen, snap photos with the World Series Trophy, and get a portrait with Redbird. It was particularly special as we got to be on the field at Busch Stadium the day before Opening Day 2013!

We also had the pleasure of operating our mobile photo studio at the wedding of Lucy and Henry, a wonderful affair which utilized our large screen projector feature, highlighting the best photos from the night. We projected onto a screen behind the bar, and people really enjoyed seeing everyone having such a good time throughout the event.

GoodEye PhotoShare's Software Has Been Patented!

3/22/2013

Great news! We have received word that our unique software, developed by our very own Bruce Seymour, is officially on its way to receiving a patent from the U.S. government!  Our software provides a one-of-a-kind experience for our guests, allowing them to compose the image themselves and take as many photos as they want until they are satisfied with the results. Often, this means they take just one photo, since our technology provides a one-to-one pixel match between the printed image and what our guests see on screen. People are always floored when their image pops up in our software's preview window, and the printed results speak for themselves.

Since we offer unlimited onsite printing, guests will often ask for multiple copies to give out to friends and family.  This provides an excellent and immediate networking opportunity for our clients, who's banner or logo can be printed with every photo. Since our prints are of such high quality, this often means they occupy a prominent place in our guests' home, reminding them of the fun time they had at that fundraiser or charity event.

To get a better idea of just how much exposure these photos can get, we investigated the statistics page on SmugMug today and discovered some wonderful data that truly emphasizes what we have to offer.

Since our SmugMug services were activated in 2009, we have archived over 85,000 photos across a broad range of events. In that time, we have received over 1,000,000 unique photo hits! With over 700 events logged, that's an average of about 125 images uploaded per event, often resulting in over 200 prints, as our guests love the printouts so much they often come back to ask for duplicates. We average between 60-100 photos per hour, with multiple printers and friendly attendants, guests are always thrilled to see our mobile studios at their events.

Holiday Happenings

2/3/2012

GoodEye Invited to 2012 VP Ball
The Veiled Prophet Organization, a St. Louis Service Organization, invited GoodEye-PhotoShare to provide our unique brand of photography and on-site prints at its 128th Annual VP Ball in December. The black tie event was held at the Downtown Hyatt Regency where the organization crowned the 2012 VP Queen of Love and Beauty. Debutantes, members and guests enjoyed elegant and quality photos from one of our studios, and we'd like to thank the Veiled Prophet Organization for inviting us to present our special photography services at this iconic event.

We Made Santa's Nice List
GoodEye took over 500 photos with Santa this holiday season! The KSDK event was a first for GoodEye-Photoshare.  Many guests loved the family photos taken by our on-site studio so much that they used these pictures for their holiday cards. We also took photos with Santa with ISES, The St. Louis Rams, De Smet Jesuit High School, Afro World and Bon Appétit Catering. Our most treasured holiday event is donating our services to take pictures of kids with Aids on Santa's lap.
